EXTENDED HOLIDAY HOURS
9 AM TO 8 PM
BEGINS FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9
Friday, December 9 at 5 pm
We welcome Andrew Scrimgeour
For an evening of original Christmas stories
(intended for adults and older teens)
His stories embody the magic and melancholy of the season.
You will hear about a snake among the Christmas ornaments and a fire out of control in the bathroom commode.
You will meet memorable characters: the boy who sings and offends his minister, the man who finds the perfect gift for his mother deep in Alzheimer’s, the pastor who bakes himself out of a job, a librarian bending the rules during a snow storm.
Scrimgeour’s stories and essays have been published in The New York Times, and last year The Times featured one of his stories on Christmas Eve.
He is the Dean of Libraries Emeritus of Drew University in Madison, New Jersey.
Our own Maxine Kumin donated her personal library to Drew University.
The weekends of December find Dr. Scrimgeour reading his stories up and down the East Coast on college campuses, in libraries, bookstores, and churches, as well as for radio programs.
He and his wife now live in Cary, North Carolina.
